About

You already know my name; Pinar, friends call me Pi. I live in the Netherlands, originally from Turkey.

I work in sound design - games, interactive media, the kind of audio that lives inside systems and responds to what you do. I spent most of my professional life at Guerrilla Games working on the Horizon franchise, figuring out how to make things that don't exist sound alive. Before that I was an installation artist, part of Soundlings - which no longer exists but was beautiful while it did.

By night (and weekends, and honestly also during lunch breaks at times) I make other things. Code experiments, generative visuals, ambient music drafts, or sounds that don't fit anywhere in my day work. Art-tech-science tangles that are hard to explain but satisfying to make.

I'm drawn to complexity, lifelike systems, the tension between control and emergence - sonic interaction, movement, cognitive science, evolutionary biology, the poetics of everything. Basically anywhere arts, sciences, design and tech collide and pretend they don't know each other. Which also means I fall down a lot of rabbit holes and start small projects that don't always go anywhere useful, which is fine.

This garden is where I think out loud. Notes, experiments, things I made to understand something or nothing, fragments that don't have a home yet find their space to exist here outwardly. Some of these things are considered finished. Most aren't.

P.S.
If something here resonates - especially in the gaps between fields - you're probably my kind of person.
